WE WANT TO MAKE A TRAVEL REVOLUTION
A few weeks ago Everplaces started creating niche travel apps, separate apps sold in the App Store. We wanted to make sure everyone understand that this has no connection with the places you have saved on Everplaces.
We see ourselves as a mobile technology company whose mission is to give people better experiences by providing better access to great information than ever before. That’s the reason why we created the Everplaces as a bookmarking service to help people remember great places. The product is now used in 82 countries and growing via word of mouth. The biggest compliment we can get is you recommending it to your friends, so we are stoked and grateful about that.
WE’VE STARTED MAKING PARTNERSHIPS WITH BLOGGERS
While building the community we’ve noticed that there are people with truly excellent local knowledge, the kind of deep, local, niche knowledge we’d love to be able to get ourselves if we were going to that city. Therefore, we started making partnerships with these people and co-producing apps with them.
Typically the authors are photographers, food or travel bloggers. But it can be any person with a deep interest based knowledge. We’ve developed a technology that allows us to quickly produce apps from the Everplaces platform because our aim is to produce a lot.
YOUR PLACES WILL NOT BE USED, THEY ARE YOURS
If you are an active Everplaces users you would already be able to find a lot of this niche information on there, and you’re probably the type to make your own collection. That’s fantastic! These travel apps are made for a different kind of person. A lot of people don’t want to do their own curation, they just want to download a finished product. It’s for them we’ve starting making the paid apps.
The places you have saved on Everplaces are yours. We would never use anything of yours in a travel app without your explicit permission. You can trust that.
WE BELIEVE INFORMATION SHOULD BE RELEVANT
We think the current travel guide concept is antiquidated. Why should all people get the same guide to, example, Berlin? If one is travelling with kids, one is a music fanatic, one is on a huge budget and one is only looking for punk clubs, then surely these people won’t benefit from the same standard guide.
So we’ve attacked this issue by producing niche travel guides. So everyone can buy curated guides perfect for their requirements. Because they are small, they are also inexpensive.
Our vision is that anyone should be able to get exactly what they need. Whether you going cycling in Tuscany, visiting vineyards in Napa or clubbing in Rio, you should be able to buy the perfect guide curated by insiders.
Today we’ve got six niche travel guides in the app store:
Copenhagen for Food Lovers
Insiders Guide to Beijing
Stockholm for Food Lovers
Designers Guide to Copenhagen
Adventure Travel in New Zealand
Mayan Ruins in Central America
A further five are on the way: ‘Vienna for Food Lovers’, ‘Boutique Hotels in London’, ’Designers Guide to Milan’, ’Places to Eat near the London Games’ (the Olympics) and ’The London Games on a Budget’.
Do you have deep specialist knowledge? If you’d like to be an author for a guide we’d love to hear from you.
Thanks for using Everplaces, let’s revolutionize the world of travel together.
