Meet Laura Nykopp, originally from Helsinki, now studying architecture at Central Saint Martins in London, and a group of architecture students who embarked on a journey to conquer Rome. Before, during and after their travel they used Everplaces as their travel tool. Read about their experiences and explore their Everplaces collection.
Laura: “As we were planning our four-day group travel to Rome, we were initially looking for a way in which we could easily share places we wanted to visit. This led me to the app Everplaces and I immediately recognized this as a potentially helpful platform for our group sharing!
A small group of us sat down and began gathering ideas for our trip. A few of us then added these ideas to Everplaces. This platform turned out to be very appropriate for our group travel (of 60+ architecture students along with tutors)– it allowed us to not only map our interests in places: we were also able to exchange ideas and plan, to an extent, the timetable for our stay.
When in Rome, we were put into “walking groups”, which essentially meant that we spent most parts of our days discovering places in smaller groups of students and tutors. In the evening we would all gather in the hotel’s foyer to share our memories of the day. We were blessed to have with us a Roman local who would go on to arrange dinners; nights out; and a visit to the construction site of a new Massimiliano Fuksas congress-center located in the EUR district.
Our time in Rome turned out to be the most wonderful of experiences. We came together as a collective and set out to experience the depths of the city. And what a gem this city turned out to be – we let ourselves get lost in the magical, labyrinthine area of Trastevere; we enjoyed late night snowball fights on the streets just off the Colosseum; we ate scrumptious Italian food and tasted wine (and heavenly coffee), and above all we were in great company.
Everplaces has proven to be a great platform to store memories; it now holds places we may want to return to, or ones we have yet to discover. This is a great way to form travel collections, both collectively and individually.”

In Everplaces we’re not afraid to admit we’re a little crazy about design. We think it’s hyper important.
Therefore we’re stoked to be listed on D-Lists’ Inspirational Web Design list. Here we are together with some of the other sites on the list:

Last week we opened Everplaces to the public. We’re still in beta, but now people don’t need an invite to use the service. We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response we’ve received and feel very grateful and humbled.
There has been huge interest from the press, more than thirty articles have been written, with coverage in eleven countries. As usual we’ve had the most new users from the States and Germany, but both Brazil and China are speeding into the top user charts. We love new users, but what’s actually made us most happy is the way the community of existing users has been showing their support of the product and spreading the word.
A few articles:
- If You’re Obsessed With Travel, You Must Try This New iPhone App (Business Insider, USA) We love the opening: “If Dr. Seuss made an app, it’d probably be something like Everplaces”
- Everplaces Creates a Pinterest for the Real World (Fast Company, USA)
And some from around the world
- Everplaces, o Pinterest da geolocalização (Brainstorm 9, Brazil)
- Everplaces is a Breath of Fresh Air Into Location Based Services (Arctic Startup, Finland)
- Everplaces: Ein wunderschönes Logbuch für Orte die ihr nicht vergessen wollt - eine ausgesprochene Empfehlung (Germany, iPhone Ticker)
Thank you for being a part of the community. We are so happy you like it.

Meet Andreas, an engineering student, avid traveller and a photographer. Andreas shares how he uses Everplaces to store his favorite spots in his hometown.
I use Everplaces to make a list of places in my hometown to store them for my own records and of course to share them with others.People often ask me for recommendations and before I would try to piece together places from different formats - paper, email, phone, etc. Now with Everplaces I give my spots a visual and beautiful display that can easily be shared. It is so much nicer when a place recommendation comes with a picture and a short personal note on why it is so special that you need to spend your time finding and experiencing it.
When you live in a city you call home you tend to overlook many places, because you end up going to your usual spots. However the city is living and has so many faces, there are new places springing up on every corner and you can’t possibly filter the cosy ones, the ones with the best cocktails or the best photo locations, all by yourself. This is where I turn to Everplaces for inspiration. I browse collections of people I trust and I dig out their suggestions for the next to-go spot.
